Elimination of the Hysteresis Effect of Pam Actuator: Modelling and Experimental Studies
نویسنده
چکیده
Original scientific paper Fluidic Muscle produced by Festo Company is the most used and investigated type of pneumatic artificial muscle (PAM) actuators which can be characterized such as powerful, dynamic (even 6000 N, 50 m/s), judder-free and resistant to dirt and dust, therefore these actuators are widely used in industrial environment besides electric motors or hydraulic actuators. One of the most mentioned drawbacks of PAMs is the existence of hysteresis. In this paper two experiments related to hysteresis phenomena of PAMs are described. The goal is to present a precise static force model for the hysteresis loop in the force-contraction (force-relative displacement) curve and a LabVIEW based sliding mode controller for hysteresis independent accurate positioning. Using the approximation algorithm for the force produced by the Fluidic Muscle the correlation coefficient R of nearly 1 and 0,01 mm accuracy in positioning is reached.

Experimental Hysteresis Identification and Micro-position Control of a Shape-Memory-Alloy Rod Actuator
In order to exhaustively exploit the high-level capabilities of shape memory alloys (SMAs), they must be applied in control systems applications. However, because of their hysteretic inherent, dilatory response, and nonlinear behavior, scientists are thwarted in their attempt to design controllers for actuators of such kind. The current study aims at developing a micro-position control system ...
متن کاملHysteresis Modeling, Identification and Fuzzy PID Control of SMA Wire Actuators Using Generalized Prandtl-Ishlinskii Model with Experimental Validation
In this paper, hysteretic behavior modeling, system identification and control of a mechanism that is actuated by shape memory alloy (SMA) wires are presented. The mechanism consists of two airfoil plates and the rotation angle between these plates can be changed by SMA wire actuators. This mechanism is used to identify the unknown parameters of a hysteresis model. Prandtl–Ishlinskii method is ...
متن کاملHysteresis Curve Fitting Optimization of Magnetic Controlled Shape Memory Alloy Actuator
As a new actuating material, magnetic controlled shape memory alloys (MSMAs) have excellent characteristics such as a large output strain, fast response, and high energy density. These excellent characteristics are very attractive for precision positioning systems. However, the availability of MSMAs in practical precision positioning is poor, caused by weak repeatability under a certain stimulu...
متن کاملHysteresis Characterization in Piezoceramic Stack Actuators and Its Influence on Vibration and Noise Reduction in Helicopters Using Actively Controlled Flaps
In this study, a characterization of hysteresis in a piezoceramic stack actuator similar to those employed in an actively controlled flap (ACF) system is performed to assess the effects of hysteresis on system performance. The effect of unmodeled actuation hysteresis may significantly reduce vibration and noise reduction capabilities. A hysteresis model based on the classical Preisach model has...
متن کاملNonlinearity Modelling in an Electromechanical Braking System for Development of a Smart Caliper
In electromechanical brakes, central controllers require accurate information about the clamp force between brake pad and disc as a function of pad displacement. This function is usually denoted as characteristic curve of the caliper. In a typical electromechanical braking system, clamp force measurements vary with actuator displacements in a hysteretic manner. Due to ageing, temperature and ot...
